Welcome back!! Today, I'll be discussing the struggles we went through during this film opener process, trust me, it wasn't easy...

The first main issue we encountered was the match cuts... We planned to have multiple match cuts to create a connection between the fun and reality clips. The first match cut we had filmed was the packing boxes to getting ready shots. Let me just say...these were DIFFICULT. We had filmed the boxes scene first and had no issues with it, in fact, we finished in about a minute after setting up! However, the issues began with the getting ready scene... Our videographer, James, had to leave, but luckily, we had Jason to film for us. This scene specifically required all four of us to be in the frame, so none of us could have filmed. We quickly changed and set up all the pictures and hair products to make the set feel more real. It took us a while to get the exact placement of the camera, but once we did, we got into positions and vibed😎. After about 5 minutes of footage, we thought we had gotten our clip, so we changed and began to download the videos from the camera. Imagine our surprise when we saw that the ENTIRE getting ready clip was OUT OF FOCUS!! We tried to use the sharpen feature on Capcut to see if we could salvage the footage, but it looked terrible. It was getting late, and the sun was going down, so we decided to reshoot another day (and we went to Chili's 😛).
Another issue we encountered was the haircut between the packing of the car and the unpacking of the car (pool day). The first clip shows my hair looking very dark, while the second one looks orange. The sun was hitting exactly where we were filming at that hour, so there was not much we could do... During the editing process, we tried a TON of different features to try to make the transition a bit more seamless. We messed around and tested a dissolve and fade but, overall, chose a slight blur!
Moving on to the college trip... Yikes, this was a major setback. My group had been relying on the college trip to film a bunch of clips for our film, considering it's based on college girls!! This trip was an amazing opportunity to really show that we were all far from one another. We had all chosen a school that we wanted to represent, and I picked to be a knightttt (UCF)! This was the very first school we had visited, so we were excited to get off after three straight hours on the bus! Amidst all the excitement...we realized WE LEFT THE CAMERA ON THE BUS! At this point, it was too late to retrieve it, so we began to stress. The weekend we got back, we decided to ask Jason to take us to the University of Miami to shoot there! Aye, all about the U☺️... In the end, it worked out we just ended up switching my school from UCF to UM!
