Transitions

 My Transitions!

Welcome back to the blog channel! Today I will be sharing my experience learning how to create seamless transitions by combining two different shots. I started by researching some transitions I could recreate and decided to try a fade and dissolve transition, along with a match cut.

Once I had my transitions in mind, I started to plan what would be the subject of my shots. I knew I wanted to capture some outdoor scenes with the natural light and natural environment, so I put on my shoes and went on a long, difficult journey...all the way to my backyard😓. For the fade, I decided to get a clip inside and fade it into my backyard to change the setting. For the graphic match, I created a visual link using two flowers that were the same size. Finally, I captured two clips of my backyard to create the dissolve transition.

After filming, I downloaded an app called Capcut to add the editing effects and piece the clips together. I found navigating the app to be quite simple, as it was very straightforward. I ensured that all the clips matched and looked seamless. Overall, I found this experience very enjoyable and fun. I loved seeing the connection between the two different clips once they were joined together. This was great practice for my editing skills and I hope I can apply it in future edits.
